Chutes and Ladders
I was emailing with a friend the other day, and it occurred to me that school librarianship is a little bit like a game of Chutes and Ladders. Sometimes, our programs leap forward, and sometimes, they fall behind. The only way to win is to accept the inevitability of the chutes and keep playing the game.
And when you’re tired of the game, or you no longer find it intriguing, it’s time to put the board back in the box and let someone else play.
