It's the parents they want to hear from. That's who we need to sell ourselves to because they are the ones that really can make a difference in these situations. These cuts in our profession are so devastating to us all. Why does this have to happen? We're told by administrators that we're valuable but if we're not scheduled to see students and take attendance, we are so easily cut. I wonder how many school boards have a vision for their districts without SLMSs and when/if/how they will be reinstated. So much will come to a standstill without school librarians.
