Study Break: Wordoid
Seth Godin’s blog pointed me to the new word generator Wordoid. Type in a word you’d like to have included in your brand / domain name / world domination project, and it will generate possible “English-sounding” words using that stem. It will also help you know if the .com or .net address of the new word (e.g., newword.com or newword.net) is available.
I typed in “font,” and here is some of what popped up:
- Perhaps I treat people with FONTEMPT?
- Perhaps my blog archive could be my table of FONTENTS?
- Perhaps you’re looking for some FONTEXT for that comment?
- Would you like us to be in FONTACT?
- Is that a FONTACLE on your chin? Have you had a dermatologist look at it?
- Should school be more or less of a FONTEST?
- You look tired. Would you like a FONTAMIN to perk you up?
- Have you read my latest FONTWERK?
- Was your favorite character on Happy Days FONTSE?
OK, I’ll stop while I’m ahead. Or “ahead.”
It’s probably a stretch to make curriculum connections (sure, you could use it help name new science inventions …) but hey. This part of the blog isn’t called Study Break for nothing!
But maybe you’ve got a swell idea for how this could be used? If so, please leave a comment!
