New Raspberry Pi Vendor
I’ve written a few times about my curiosity about the Raspberry Pi, the $35 microcomputer designed as a low-cost entrypoint with which kids can to learn to program and power inventions.
Of course, once you buy/find the monitor, keyboard, mouse, HDMI/video cable, SD card, and Ethernet cable, the total cost may be closer to $150, but still — a $150 computer isn’t bad!
Mine is finally here (ask me if you don’t know how to set yours up — as a programming newbie, it took me a while to figure things out!), but if you want one, there’s now a second vendor, Allied Electronics, to join the first U.S. vendor, Newark. There’s still a lengthy waiting period, but if you want one by Halloween, now’s the time to place your order.
